Why Should You Own An Electric Drum Pump?

There are situations where manual pumps are impractical for getting liquid out of drums and pails, and in these circumstances, using an electrical drum pump is the optimum solution, and will both cut the amount of time taken and additionally make it simpler for staff. As with manually powered pumps, there are different types of design available that serve slightly different purposes.

The key attribute of an electric drum pump is its ability to provide a very smooth and tireless flow of liquid from a drum. Rather than the pulsing flow that comes from a manual piston pump, with an electrically powered model, the liquid is drawn out of the drum in a single smooth flow, meaning that there is less potential for splashing. Aside from reducing wastage, the lack of splashing means a lower risk of spillage.

It is common sense to use different electric drum pumps for each kind of liquid that you need to move. This prevents oil and water based liquids from contaminating each other and maintains all the liquids at the highest possible levels of purity. It is advisable to fully clean each pump system after use to prevent any blockage, particularly in any case where the pump has been used for liquids that can congeal such as paint.

Different kinds of liquid can react with the inside surfaces of the pump in different ways, and in order to ensure the long life and maintain the quality of your electric drum pump in the best possible condition, it is vitally important to use only the correct kind of pump with each chemicals. You can choose from 3 different materials inside the pump:

Polypropylene is a high quality plastic that is generally inert and unreactive. Electric drum pumps using polypropylene are intended for use with light weight liquids, and can resist corrosion from acids. They are not generally compatible with solvents, as these can break down the chemicals in the plastic and cause the pump to fail.

A stainless steel pump is useful under many different circumstances, and will not corrode, even if it is left immersed in water for long periods. Stainless steel can retain its strength with high weight oil and provided that the pump is well maintained, will remain in excellent condition indefinitely.

Aluminum pumps are good for a huge range of different liquids. They are generally slightly less hardwearing than stainless steel, although this will depend on the exact quality of the pump equipment that you are using, and the quality of maintenance. Aluminum generates its own surface patina on exposure to air, protecting the metal from reacting with acids, which means the pump can be used with a slightly wider range of chemicals.

Although an electric drum pump is a more substantial investment than a manual one, the time and effort that these devices will save – particularly when used with high weight liquids such as lubricating oil – coupled with the reduced wastage that they generate, means that they will provide a major asset to your business as well as improving the quality of the workplace for your staff and allowing them to be more productive with their time going forward.

The Melancholy Music of the Violin

The violin is a member of the string instrument group. It has four strings that must be tuned precisely in order to produce the desired sound. The violin is a fairly temperamental instrument that easily falls out of tune and must be tuned perfectly or the sound will be off. It is possibly the combination of having to learn how to tune this instrument properly, hold the hand on the neck of the violin right and use the bow properly that this particular instrument is often seen as one of the more difficult ones to learn. The violin is often referred to as the fiddle, which is its informal title. In the past the strings of the violin were made of animal gut or catgut and the hairs on the bow were made of horse hair. Today, the strings are often made out of steel or other metals and the bows are still made with horse hair.

While the violin may not have a history as long or old as wind instruments or percussion instruments do, it has still existed for a long time. Throughout most of its history, the violin remained more or less the same in use and appearance until the 1700s. It was after this that the violin went through some minor changes in design, mostly in regards to the angle of the violin’s neck. While this change may not have changed the sound of the violin much, possible changes in the materials used to make the violin have a significant affect on the sound the violin will make.

For starters, the violin is hollow and consists of mostly spruce and maple. The bridge that holds the strings up off the face of the violin is also wood. The pegs are made of wood or plastic, though wood is preferred because it has more grip to hold the strings in place. Unfortunately, many violins are sold with plastic pegs. Chalk is sometimes used to increase the grip. Other than the strings, the smaller tuning keys and the chin rest, the violin is wood. Violin makers, also known as luthiers, are particular and specific in what they use in making a violin. If the instrument is made with the wrong material, or the material is not aged or graded properly, the violin will not emit the sounds it is supposed to.

Violins are the smallest of the violin family of instruments, which include the viola, the cello and the base. They can also emit a higher pitch than the others, while still managing to give out a rich sound that can reach the soul. It may be a temperamental instrument that requires a lot of practice and dedication, but it is also quite a flexible instrument with a large range of sounds it can make. The four strings may seem limiting to the inexperienced, but they are not very limiting at all. The violin can play just about any kind of music and has an amazing range that can be well manipulated to create beautiful sounds and music.
